BELGRADE -- Bajram Haliti of Kosovo and Metohija's provisional executive council strongly condemned Monday the international officials' falseness because they claim to be urging the demilitarisation and disarming of the ethnic Albanian terrorist organisation calling itself Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), while preparing its transformation into an Albanian army.
Haliti said that the transformation of KLA, in a form urged by commander of the U.N. peacekeeping force KFOR Gen. Michael Jackson and head of the U.N. civilian mission to Serbia's southern province (UNMIK) Bernard Kouchner, was nothing but a step towards carrying out Washington's strategy envisaging the secession of the province from Serbia. Under Gen. Jackson's and Kouchner's plan, an army is to be set up in the province on the model of the U.S. national guard as a part of the political process for Kosovo and Metohija's future status, he said. He said that the international mission in the province could in this way be turned into a tragic farce, explaining that the forming of an Albanian army in the province would only mean that the Albanian Mob and organised crime had been legalised.
