The Serbian government met in session on Thursday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Mirko Marjanovic and considered and adopted a program for the renewal and reconstruction of the public company NIS, Serbia's oil industry, a republican government statement said.
Under the program, NIS's production capacities damaged or destroyed during the recent NATO aggression on Yugoslavia will be reconstructed. Resumed production in the Pancevo and Novi Sad refineries will secure the necessary quantities of domestic oil products, and repairs of gas distribution networks will enable a continued supply of the market with gas.
Adopting the NIS program, the government obliged the company to secure a regular supply of all consumers in Serbia with oil products and natural gas in the coming winter season, the statement said.
