Cro-Am Social Golf Club has for a number of years enjoyed the free web hosting service provided by Yahoo Geocities. Unfortunately Yahoo Geocites has decided to longer provide this free service to the wider community. As a result this website will no longer be available as of 26 October 2009. Due to this Cro-Am has been forced to find another service provider preferably that provides web hosting for free. The Cro-Am committee has been aware for a while of the closure of this website and has been actively trying to find another service provider. The good news is that the Cro-Am committee has been successful and will now be advertising on its new website which is located at: http://cro-am.yolasite.com/ The new website is up and running now with all the latest news, handicaps, results and much more. This weekend's game at Oxley is the Match Play Final, we wish both finalist best of luck. The rest of the field will be competing in a Stableford competition. Below is the list of players that will be representing Cro-Am Social Golf Club for the annual Adriatic Cup challenge against the Italian Golf Association to be held on Sunday 19 July 2009. It was the intent of Cro-Am to have as many of our members participate in this year's event. However, due to Robina Woods having restricted the playing field to 48 players for the event, means that only 24 from each club can participate. This weekend's game at Pacific will be played under the format of a Stableford Round Competion. Those players that are still in contention will also continue match play. Pacific has advised that no Golf Carts will be permitted onto the course on Sunday. Pacific's dress regulations apply to both the Course and in the Clubhouse and access will be denied to those not complying. Men: Neat and presentable at all times, collared shirt (Cro-Am shirt preferabe) with smart shorts or trousers. Long jeans and board shorts are not permitted. Short socks or anklet may be worn with shorts providing they are predominantly white in colour. Ladies: Ladies are not permitted to wear lycra type clothing or brief shorts. It has been brought to the attention of the Cro-Am Committee that rescheduling a Club Championship round one week prior to the original date, has disadvantaged some members who have planned things around the Cro-Am calendar and are now not in a position to attend the rescheduled game. In order to prevent some unsatisfaction to those few and not disadvantage them in any way, the Cro-Am Committee has decided to allow any player not able to attend the rescheduled game the option to play on the original date of Sunday 28 October 2007. Any player who decides to take up this option will need to: ? have their card signed by a marker who is a current Cro-Am member; ? find a playing partner (i.e. no single player will be allowed to play a solo round); ? Book a suitable tee time for this day; ? pay any green fees charged by The Colonial Golf Club directly; and ? hand in their card to a Committee Member by 7:00pm, Saturday 3 November. Most of our members are not able to make the next round of Club Championships to be held at "The Colonial" due to religious celebrations. The Committee has had several requests to investigate the possibility of rescheduling the next game. Because of its importance and to the number of members affected, it has been decided by the Committee that the second round of Club Championships be moved to Sunday, 4 November 2007. A two year reign of the Adriatic Cup has come to an end for Cro-Am. The Italian Golf Association has bounced back and produced a comprehensive win by defeating Cro-Am by a total of 34 points under the team Stableford format. The Italian Golf Association managed to claim all but one of the individual prizes including Drive and Pitch (Bruno Doller), Straightest Drive (Vince De Pasquale), three of the Nearest the Pins (Harry Linari, Vince De Pasquale, Gino Milani), and Individual Best Score (Frank Grisaffi). The only shinning light for Cro-Am was Ivan Kosic who managed to pick up a Nearest the Pin. I am sure that even though our scores didn't reflect it, we all had an enjoyable day and are looking forward to next years event and a crack at regaining the Cup. |

The Club Trophy for the Adriatic Cup is up for grabs this Sunday. The annual event will be staged at Brookwater and will be played under a Team Stableford format. Any player who has a handicap greater than 27 will have to play under the maximum allowable tournament handicap of 27. Additionally players who have a lower AGU handicap will have to play off their AGU. Brookwater have allocated a seven hole mini shot gun start which will dramatically reduce any waiting time, if any, at the tee. Players are requested to be at Brookwater by 8:00am at the latest. Cro-Am representatives who turn up wearing their current 2007 Cro-Am club shirts will receive a free lunch. Players who choose to wear alternative clothing will have to pay $24.00 as lunch will be provided for all players.
