The all new E46 M3 reasserts the BMW concept of the true high performance car cloaked in an elegant, yet powerful body.

However, the athletic good looks of the new M3 are just the beginning. Beneath the subtle power bulge of its aluminium bonnet lurks a 3246 cc, 252Kw/321hp, Double VANOS - controlled straight-six engine, which propels the car from rest to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds.

The engineers at BMW M GmbH have created a naturally-aspirated masterpiece in the new M3's engine. Not only does it provide almost 7 per cent more power and 4.5 per cent more torque than it's highly-lauded predecessor, but 80 per cent its formidable 365Nm of torque is available from just 2000 rpm, making it exceptionally driveable in all traffic conditions.

Together with outstanding power, the new coupe continues the M3's tradition of superb braking and handling. Thanks to its sophisticated compound high performance brakes, the M3 is capable of stopping from 100 km/h to rest in just 35 metres, while its wider track, specially constructed 18 inch light alloy wheels and trademark 50/50 ideal weight distribution, have further enhanced the model's legendary handling.
