"Soap Opera": the movie

A take-off of soap operas.

Plot:

No idea. Is this important?

Quirks: Bad acting
Mutants/dwarves/giants act like every other character
‘Out-casts’-people with drinking/drug problems/poor people/bums act like every other character
Actor changes (for the same character) occur without warning and often without explanation, but mostly to an actor that has similar build/hair and eye colourings (even if their hair is dyed so that it is similar)
Characters have very confusing, long speeches to explain things that happened in the past, like how characters came back from the dead, etc., to other characters
Characters recall/explain things from the past (ancient-soap-opera-history, or recent events) to other characters to make sure that the audience knows what is going on
Flashbacks/flash-forwards (or possible scenarios): That you have seen before / that you haven’t seen before / that you haven’t seen before because the actors playing the characters have changed
Twins/clones/look-alikes: Played by the same actor
    Confuse evil characters and/or innocents
  Actors cry on cue
Deaths: actors are written out of the show in bizarre ways
Miracles occur: eg. Person comes back to life after being crushed to death
Characters can come back to life (but are different actors)
    Characters regain sight/have facial plastic-surgery
Characters often have amnesia/memory-loss, which serves to thicken the plot and give rise to flashbacks
Relationships: Main characters have confusing and overlapping family trees with most of the other main characters
  Romance
  Engagements
  Weddings
  Pregnancies
  Splits
  Affairs
  Jealousy/anger
Spiteful rumours/sabotage of relationships by other lovers, etc Pregnancies/children are useful here
Brothers and sisters are either allies or enemies
Filming techniques: Long looks at the camera/zoom in & weird facial expressions just before the scene ends
  Looks in the mirror
  Talking to themselves
Thinking to themselves (especially when other characters are in the same room/area)
Evil characters: Think they are hard-done-by
Have an ambition: For: Themselves/their partner/child(ren)
To: Marry the person they love,...
Get a really good job at the top of their company, etc.
(I can’t think of anything else!!)
Circulate vicious rumours/accuse innocents of wrong-doing to make themselves seem innocent to other innocent characters
  Have secret hide-aways & tunnels/luxurious mansions/exotic holiday houses
Have thugs/henchmen / are thugs henchmen
  Plant evidence
  Hide/destroy evidence
  Escape from jail
  Come back from the dead
Can be present near innocents though only a few people know about the evil character (except the audience)
  Have over-the-top evil plans
Are always cleverer than the innocent victims
Kidnap innocents and other evil characters
Often allow the innocent to have live video coverage of their loved one (for no good reason)
Are present at fancy-dress parties (wearing a mask)
  Have many disguises Eg. Gardeners
    Nuns/Priests
    Foreigners
    Nurses/Doctors
Innocent goodies: Only win by accident because the enemy is smart
Or, because they are so pure & good always triumphs over evil
Attempt to escape from their kidnapper by talking to the guard
  Are gullible
Don’t necessarily need to go to court to fix up problems because they take matters into their own hands and save the day (making the story more romantic/fairy-tale-like), or because they have relatives who are lawyers, etc.
They are often related to, or are close friends with policemen/lawyers/doctors and other characters who are helpful in emergencies.
  Thus escape from evil characters
Happy families: Courtship (only marry main characters)
  Engagement
  Wedding
  Honeymoon
Babies: being non-actors, mostly need sound effects for when they are supposed to cry/laugh
    mostly look uninterested in anything/placid
are often twins in happy families
Children speak like adults, in a kid-like way
Nannies and maids (often henchmen or evil characters) in happy families
  Long lost family members
  Divorce
  Remain friends
Children grow up (change actors), and become main characters years later
Live on farms, but parents have high-salary/involving jobs
Jobs: Policemen/detectives/sergeants:
  Criminals are involved in: Drug-smuggling
    Assault
    Kidnapping, etc
  Priests/nuns
  Nurses/doctors/psychiatrists
  Newspapers-people/TV journalists
  Photographers
  Office/business/corporate/managers people
High Society/Upper-class: Drink champagne to celebrate things
  Go out to restaurants
  Have fancy-dress parties
  Give expensive gifts
  Go on overseas holidays/trips
  Have elaborate weddings
  Have perfect houses
  Have house-keepers/servants/maids/nannies
