Installment 1

	Cast

Charity	Young bride-to-be, fianceé of Brenton. Works as a reporter.
Brenton	Fiancé of Charity. Young detective.
Daphne	Mother of Charity. The head of a well-respected aid organisation, Helpful Hands.
William	Father of Charity. Minister.
Scott	Previous fiancé of Charity. Owner of Robotronics
Megan	Charity's best friend. Works as a nurse.
Millicent	Charity's grandmother, mother of Daphne.
Walter	Charity's grandfather, husband of Millicent, father of Daphne.

Act 1. Sc. 1	View of a set banquet table inside a mansion, complete with candles, etc. for the Engagement party of a young couple. The bride-to-be is trying on her veil and speaking to her mother.
Charity	You know, mother, I'm not sure about letting Scott come to my engagement party. After all, I was engaged to him once and he's never forgiven me for letting him go.
Daphne	Charity, you know he only wants the best for you now, and remember why he's so important to me. He is the owner of Robotronics, the wealthiest man in Milwaukee and I really need him to sponsor Helpful Hand's new project. The starving people in India are crying out for tents and food supplies as we speak. I can't afford to miss this opportunity, we've already missed out on five of our usual supporters for this project. They just can't spare the funds, apparently there have been some bad deals done lately. Robotronics is my last hope.
Charity	Oh, I suppose it's only for one day. If you can keep him occupied I'd hardly have to speak to him for five minutes, what with the other hundred guests to look after.
Daphne	Of course, Charity. Everything will be fine. You'll see.

Act1.Sc.2.	Dark make-shift cell with Brenton locked up inside and a guard with tattoos and black leather standing outside.
Brenton	(thinking aloud) Oh no, this is terrible! I can't believe this is happening today, on the very day that Charity and I were to celebrate our engagement. Don't worry, Charity, I'll be there, I've got to be ... there.

Act1.Sc.3.	Charity with Millicent at Charity and Brenton's Engagement Party
Charity	Where can Brenton be? He's not usually this late. (Thinking out loud) I know his work means he's on call 24 hours a day, but this is our Engagement Party. (Talking to Millicent) Is it really going to be alright, Grandma?
Millicent	Yes, everything's going to be alright, Charity. Brenton will arrive soon, he knows this day is important to you. I bet he's driving here right now.
Charity	Yes, I guess so. Thanks Grandma, and thanks for coming today.
Millicent	Oh, I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Act1.Sc.4.	Megan at the hospital
Megan	(To a male patient) Don't worry, sir. The doctor said you'll be better and out of here in no time.
Patient	Well, I'll be happy to be better, but sorry to leave. Everyone here has been so wonderful.
Megan	But, you must have a family you want to get back to. And you must have plenty of friends who would want to visit you and wish you well. I don't know how such a nice man as you couldn't have numerous friends.
Patient	How kind of you to say so. And what about you?
Megan	Yes, as a matter of fact, when my shift is over I'm going to my best friend's engagement party. She has been such a great friend to me. We've been best friends since we were children.
Patient	How lovely.
Megan	(Looking at her watch) Well, my shift is almost over now. I think you had better have a big rest to help you recover. You've got a busy day if you're going to go home tomorrow.
Patient	Have a good time at the party.
Megan	Oh, thankyou, I will.

Act1.Sc.5	Daphne and Scott at Charity and Brenton's Engagement Party
Daphne	Oh Scott, how generous, I see you brought a gift for the happy couple. Let me propose another way in which you can give to charity. (pun)
Scott	I'll be more than happy to assist your organisation, but tell me, do you always have your work on your mind, even at your daughter's engagement?
Daphne	Oh, Charity and Brenton insisted on preparing for this function by themselves as much as they could. They work so well together, even in their occupations they keep each other on the ball, Charity being a reporter and Brenton a detective.
Scott	Promoted to detective? Things are looking up for the groom, first engaged to the most beautiful woman in the world, and now promoted to detective. Is he working on anything exciting at the moment?
Daphne	All top secret, of course. But he tells us he's enjoying it. He certainly has a brain in his head, that's for sure. I wonder you never employed him at Robotronics when he finished college.
Scott	It is my loss, I am sure, ma'am. And now if you'll excuse me, I hope to convey my congratulations to the bride-to-be.
	Scott nods his head to Daphne and begins looking around for Charity through all the crowds of guests.

Narrator	Will Brenton escape from his imprisoners and make it to his engagement party?
	What will happen when Megan arrives at the party?
	Will Scott ever find Charity amongst all the guests?
