nerdling knows that every good piece of science fiction tells us something about humanity. Some works encourage us to keep exploring the unknown and stretching our boundaries of knowledge. Others warn us of impending doom if we do not alter our ways as a civilisation. And others simply make us more aware, through allegory, of our own responsibilities to each other and to the planet, today.
And then there's Star Wars, from which we learn the message: everybody wants merchandise.
