WHAT IS THE YOUTH EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE??
The Youth Executive consists of 16 youth and 4 adult members
Theses are nominated and elected at Youth Forums
Adult Chair is the appropriate State Program Advisor.
Youth Chair is nominated and elected at the first Youth Executive meeting after Youth Forum.
WHAT DO THEY DO???
Assist with the production of Lost the Plot (state mag for 14-18 Guides)
Assist with the organisation of State Activities for 14-18 Guides
Votes on State and National Issues for Guides
Suggests updates to the Australian Gudie Program.
Runs annual Youth Forum and annual 14-18 event, and meets as necessary to organise these events.
So how does this work?
All youth committee memebers can stay on the committee until the day before their 19th birthday.
Maximum two year consecutive term.
Meets 4 times a year from 10am until 4pm on Sundays with extra meetings scheduled as necessary to organise special events.
Adults and youth split to discuss ideas before reaching a verdict.
Minutes of the Youth Executive meetings are recorded and distributed to all committee memebrs within two weeks of meetings.
So basically this is a chance to take an active role in Guides 14-18 to have your say and have yout voice heard. It's the opportunity to meet some great people, to make some fantastic friends and to actually feel liek you're doing something for Guides! Really, it's not jsut a bore, and you'll fidn it to be a very rewarding, hyperactive and exciting experience!! So please concider joining Youth Executive and becoming part of the mayhem!!!

Nomination forms will be sent out to each unit and will appear in the next edition of Lost the Plot. So if you think you or anyone in your unit would enjoy this oportunity regardless of whether they can attend Youth Forum or not, please nominate them for a possition!!
