(in other words, Trish)

Trish

Born in Australia, some of the happiest memories of Trish's childhood were spent near a campfire listening to family and friends getting to the roots of real music. Guitars in hand, voices in key and smiles on faces, it was second nature for Trish to have instinctive rhythm and tune from an early age (great grounding for the acoustic flavour of 'Leather and Lace').
Trish was always modest about her voice and kept it to herself, being a shy child. In her teenage years Trish wrote poetry, song lyrics and tried all manner of instruments from piano to guitar, drums and then finally bass guitar, but nothing could compare to the feeling she got from expressing herself vocally.
In her early twenties whilst pregnant with her first child, Trish discovered a lump in her neck. Fearing the worst she tried her best to ignore it and concentrate on the job at hand. Soon after the birth of her daughter Caela, she mustered up the courage to have some tests and after the longest week in history it was discovered that fortunately the tumour was benign. Operating was a must as there was still a chance it could become cancerous, but the surgery brought with it its own dangers. Trish was faced with two very real dangers. Either the surgeon could accidentally cut a nerve to her tongue leaving Trish unable to speak at all, or the nerve to her mouth rendering her unable to smile....her greatest asset.
When Trish recovered with only slight numbness in her lips she felt blessed. Had the worse happenend, her one regret would have been not letting everyone hear her hidden gift, her voice. So much to the amazement of all Trish's voice emerged, like a butterfly from its cocoon and she let her insecurities fall by the wayside. She joined a singing group and also kicked off the new century by making her singing debut on New Year's Eve 1999 with her aunty Cat's band 'Tarragal'. Her debut song was very apt to Trish's journey and close to her heart...'Amazing Grace'.
Soon after this, Trish and Cat attended a Muso's evening at Trish's local tavern where Trish spotted some serious talent playing guitar -her future husband, father of her second child Caetline and 'Leather and Lace' guitarist Dave. But this is yet another tale, just click on the LEARN link to find out more.
Trish's influences are blues, roots, good ol' classics and modern country music. The immense enjoyment she gets from singing is infectious to all, as is the effect of hearing Trish belt out a blues number like the red hot mama she is!
