The Yalwal Goldfields

I'm slowly making a rough survey of the Yalwal gold fields and taking photographs of the area. I have included all of the information I have gathered so far and this site will grow slowly but surely as I make more excursions. I'm doing this mostly because I enjoy photography so you won't find lots of historical research here, aside from a small introductory article listed on the side bar. If you know more about the history of Yalwal than I do then I would appreciate it greatly if you could write an article for me about the area.

Below is an imagemap of the various sites of interest at Yalwal. If you click on the red symbols (Shovels and picks for mining sites and `h' in a shield for historical sites) or blue dotted line (Walking track) you can find out more about that area.

The green dotted line is the path of a track indicated on the 1980 Yalwal map, but not on more recent ones. I doubt there is any remnant of the track left, but it should indicate the best route over Reynolds saddle to Bundundah Creek.
