Jenny's Inspirational Sayings I

I have included on this page the major inspirational passages that have helped me through the rough times in my life. I hope they can help you too.

ONE DAY AT A TIME

Whatever the goals you're pursuing, No matter how rugged the climb, You're certain to get there by trying your best, And taking one day at a time. "Forever" is hard to imagine, "The future" may seem far away - But every new dawn brings a wonderful chance to do what you can, day by day.

What lies behind us, and
what lies before us are tiny
matters, compared to what
lies within us.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson-

Be glad of life, because it
gives you the chance to love
and to work and to play and to
look up at the stars.
-Henry Van Dyke-

The Serenity Prayer

God Grant Me The Serenity....
...to accept the things
I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know
the difference.
Living one day at a time,
enjoying one moment
at a time,
accepting hardship as
the pathway to peace.
Taking as He did, this sinful
world as it is,
not as I would have it,
trusting that He will
make all things right
if I surrender to His will;
That I may be reasonably
happy in this life,
and supremely happy with Him
forever in the next

God's promises are
like the stars;
the darker the night
the brighter they shine.
-David Nicholas-

The following quote really helped me through when I was really down and out.....Read it carefully.......

To try is to risk failure. But risk must be taken because the greatest hazard of life is to risk nothing. The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn, feel, change, grow, live and love. - Leo Buscaglia

This is a self-reflective passage....

Try Being

Try Being --- braver and bolder
Try Being --- wiser the older you get
Try Being --- more gracious in defeat
Try Being --- a smiler instead of a whiner
Try Being --- quicker to stretch out your hand in helping others
Try Being --- more of a doer
Try Being --- an encourager
Try Being --- a good neighbor
Try Being --- gentle
Try Being --- content with what you have.
It's not hard --- If you try

The following is my basic philosophy - something to do with my perfectionist streak.

EXCELLENCE

Excellence is dedication to a job that's hard to do, going the extra mile and always trying to follow through.

Excellence is communication, sharing everything you know, and learning how to listen so your expertise will grow.

Excellence is appreciation of the talent that you see, acknowledging a job well done inspires success and loyalty.

Excellence is aspiration with a higher goal in mind, to trust in God and reach for things of a more rewarding kind. - Jill Wolf

I like this acrostic poem too. It is a good mindset to have.

SUCCESS

S ee your goal
U nderstand the obstacles
C lear your mind of doubt
C reate a positive mental picture
E mbrace the challenge
S tay on track

S how the world you can do it!

I need to remember this one when life's road is long and rocky.

Don't Quit

(Kristone)

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with it's twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worse,
That you must not quit.

And this last one is about love....I have finally understood what this means.....because I now have it.

Love is not measured by how many times you touch each other, but by how many times you reach each other.
