POEM 16

My letters and poems are all i've got
I seem to have written quite allot

I write them from my prison cell
From my words and rhymes you can probably tell

I've been in jail four times now
I won't say why. no need to say how

It's not a place, thats good for me
There are many places i'd rather be

But here in prison i am once more
Away from the woman that I adore

Coburg twice, Morwell, Beechworth to
I'm sick of these prisons and i'm sick of the screws

I hate the bricks I hate the bars
I hate the prison vans and cars

I hate everything about these jails
From the prisons themselves to the system that fails

Many times they have taken away my freedom
But they cannot touch my soul
They can take away my privileges and put me in this hole

But they will never break me
Never tame my wild free heart

My mind will be forever free
Prison will not leave it's mark
