ME/CFS/FM Support Association Queensland Inc..

Tropical North Queensland Support Group
Newsletter.
No 12, May 2006.
Greetings.

As we march into 2006, we pause a moment to remember the unwelcome visitor forced upon us in the tropics:- a big wind called LARRY. Fortunately, no one was killed. Phone calls have been attempted to everybody in our area, but we have not been able to reach everybody. While most of the media attention has focused on Innisfail and the coast, the Tablelanders also suffered, especially the southern area. Most of us just quietly got on with the cleanup, helping others less fortunate.

THANKS
BOOKS and information We have reviewed and purchased a copy of “How can I use herbs in my daily life?” by Isabell Shipard. This magnificent book is filled with ideas for plants you can use to improve your health. MEMBERSHIP

The Queensland Association needs our support. The CFS organisation can only operate successfully if we join with them as financial members.

AMALGAMATION:

The Tropical Support Group has amalgamated with the remnants of the “Chronic Fatigue Information and Support” group formerly operating in the Smithfield area. Several of their members had already started attending our group. We welcome their decision to amalgamate, and the passing of funds to our group. Thanks especially to Rosanne and Patricia.

HELP NEEDED
We have difficulty keeping up with all the needs of coordinating this growing support network. We already have lots of Area Contacts, and a Webmaster. We need some volunteers:-
  1. A Newsletter editor, and help with distribution and postage of the Newsletter
  2. Collecting and collating new printed information
  3. Maintain surveillance of the Internet for new and relevant information.
Any Volunteers please?

MEETINGS:
Please note: There are a few changes to meetings.

Innisfail: Thankfully this venue is still functioning.

Ravenshoe: The former Outcomes venue is no longer available. For May, we have been offered the hospitality of the private home of Angela deHaas, 167 River Road, Millstream Estate.

Cairns: Change from Stratford Community Hall to the Training Room at Irelands, Mulgrave Road. A map will be sent with the meeting flyer to everybody in the Cairns area.

Cardwell: Change from Friday to Mondays subject to confirmation

Please help us with our meeting publicity by finding a place to display the enclosed Meeting Notice. Your ideas and input are always welcome for these Support Group meetings. Please advise if you have special needs, or issues you would like to have raised at meetings.
